When you visit our website or read about us, you will see that we have a new look. After so many successful events and visits this year we decided the time had come to create a new look that reflects the excitement and enthusiasm disabled people had for the day.
The Experience is a Glasgow entertainment and events venue who took part in Disabled Access Day for the first time this year. We caught up with Geoff to find out about the Access for All programme that they run and how taking part in Disabled Access Day helped to raise awareness.
Exciting times ahead as there are only 150 days to go until Disabled Access Day 2017! Taking place over three days from the 10th-12th of March, this will be the biggest event yet. We’ve been hearing from lots of venues and businesses who want to take part again next year, and we’re excited to welcome brand new locations to the Disabled Access Day map in 2017!
The start of an accessible journey The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust celebrates the history of Shakespeare in Stratford-Upon-Avon and manages the five family homes that Shakespeare spent his life in. The Trust is on a journey to improve its accessibility, so getting involved on 12th March seemed like a natural step. With an aim of increasing awareness of their accessibility but with a limited budget, the team worked hard to put on a successful event. We caught up with Becky Cund, Director of HR and Admin, who told us more about the trusts involvement.
