And we have lift off!
Let us take this moment to officially wish you a very happy Disabled Access Day 2017! Venue packs have been packaged and posted, excited tweets are flooding in, and disabled people, their friends and families all over the country are ready to celebrate!
Our founder, Paul, was the first to start his #AccessDay journey today, and is making his way to Yorkshire to see the amazing events on offer there. Our colleagues and supporters will be visiting many places, including London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Shrewsbury – Disabled Access Day truly is UK wide!
Don’t forget to tweet us @Access_Day using the hashtag #AccessDay throughout the weekend. Tell us all about your experiences, send photos of your Disabled Access Day highlights, and we always welcome feedback so we can make next year’s celebrations even bigger and brighter! Of course, if you visit somewhere you’ve never been to before this weekend, our 2017 #AccessDay theme is #YouandSomewhereNew, so get tweeting and telling your friends about that, too!
Huge thanks go to all of you who have joined us on this journey, and to our partners and supporters, especially Barclays, Gatwick Airport and Quest 88 – together, we’ve made large, powerful steps towards collectively changing the face of accessibility and inclusion and ensuring that, one day, Disabled Access Day will be every day.
Have a fantastic weekend,
The Disabled Access Day 2017 Team.
