Scottish Parliament launch new accessible toilet sign on Disabled Access Day!
The Scottish Parliament will be unveiling their new accessible toilet sign on 12th March. The new signs have been designed by 10-year-old Grace Warnock, a student at Prestonpans in East Lothian.
Grace has Crohn’s Disease and like many other people uses accessible toilets. She created a new accessible toilet sign following negative attitudes because her disability is invisible. It is hoped that the sign will raise awareness that it’s not just people with visible disabilities that use accessible toilets.
Grace will be joined by Iain Gray MSP on 12th March at Scottish Parliament to unveil the new signs in Parliament. The sign is already being used at Enjoy Leisure centres across East Lothian.
You can also join a BSL interpreted tour of parliament on 12th March at 12.00pm and a BSL interpreted discussion on the Art of John Bellany at 2pm.
