Take Part - Transport Providers
A key part of Disabled Access Day is encouraging people to explore somewhere new. This presents a problem. How do they get there? We need transport providers to come forward and show off their accessible transport solutions. Encouraging disabled people to test out your services on this day will give them the confidence to use your company for future trips.
How you help? We are open to ideas about transport providers getting involved in Disabled Access Day but here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Offer a free trip to a local attraction. Why not team up with a local castle or museum and organise a trip there on Disabled Access Day?
- Open your doors to explorers. You could provide tours of your vehicles so that disabled people can learn how to book tickets and what kind of facilities you can provide. This will help to build up their confidence so that they can make trips on their own.
- Offer a discount to passengers taking part in Disabled Access Day. A deal that allows disabled people to bring along a friend for free on this day could be enough to encourage them to try out your services for the first time.
