Leeds: Accessible Transport Exhibition

Come out and try wheeling on and off buses, taxis and adapted cars on the Briggate at Leeds’ first Accessible Transport Exhibition! This event gives people an opportunity to have a go at getting on and off public transport without feeling rushed or pressured. Local transport providers will have stands where you can ask questions and find out more about accessible transport options.

JCharles Centre LDS

Leeds: Accessible Sports at the John Charles Centre

You can try a range of sports at the John Charles Centre on March 16th! Join the fun from 11:00-13:00 for their Wheelchair Basketball sessions, or in the afternoon from 13:00-15:00 to try adapted table tennis! There will also be adapted bicycles for you to try, as well as Boccia (similar to bowls) sessions.

William Merritt Centre are showcasing some of the newest and best in accessibility equipment that makes it easier to use wheelchairs, drive cars and travel by air! Join them on Disabled Access Day and try something new.

Leeds: Northern Ballet

Northern Ballet are opening their doors to visitors for a touch tour of props, costumes and the set of their performance of Victoria. Immerse yourself in the world of theatre and then enjoy a described performance of The Northern Ballet’s ‘Victoria’ in the afternoon!

Harrogate: Try-A-Bus Day

Disability Action Yorkshire and Transdev have teamed up to bring you a try-something-new event in Harrogate town centre. Experience the accessibility of one of their accessible buses and meet drivers and staff who will be there to answer any questions you might have.

Celebrate Disabled Access Day at Huddersfield Literature Festival 2019! Join in a Bibliotherapy session using poetry, fiction, song and more in an interactive session with Julie Walker from Words for Wellbeing.
